INTERVIEW W/ YESSY RIVERA

Nice to meet you again, I’m truly becoming a fan of your work. How long have you been modeling?

- Since I was about 14 years old so total about 11 years? I suppose professionally only since about 2015. Before that I was a performer at Walt Disney World.

Did you go to school for modeling?

- if you consider watching America’s next top model religiously, “school”, then yes!

Where’s home by the way?

- I’m originally from Mayagüez, Puerto Rico but I grew up in Orlando, Florida.

How would you describe your style to people who have not seen you in any photographs?

- I’m very adventurous with my personal style... if I had to put it in two words it’d be “rebel soul”...

Any dream magazine you’d like to be on the cover of?

- Cosmopolitan magazine… It’s a total lifestyle magazine and I try to nurture every aspect of my life… Professional life, personal life, love life, family life. I’d love to be featured as a lifestyle guru someday… Let’s hope I figure it out lol

Are you currently on the roster to any agencies?

- yes, I’m currently represented all through the South East market however I am not exclusive…

Favorite city?

- Tokyo

What are some of Yessy’s marketing tips? It can be one or two, readers get curious.

- Well first and foremost you definitely have to put a little bit of thought into the kind of content you’re creating. Determining your aesthetic and creating quality content is basically the key to any good marketing campaign…

Windows or MAC?

- Windows for PC, but apple for phone.

Have you ever gotten camera shy?

- LOL I do on occasion… With singing for example I’m OK with it if I’m the one behind the camera you know what I mean. If I’m in the car, or in the shower LOL

If you could go on a lunch date with a celebrity, who would it be?

- Currently, I’d love to pick Lady Gaga’s brain.

Can modeling be strenuous?

- oh of course. Sometimes you’ll be shooting the winter ads in the middle of summer or vice versa. You also don’t realize that within the job you’re actually capturing a specific moment in time, and when you’re not feeling your best it can be a little hard to model through that.

Where’s Yessy R in 5 years?

- Ideally? Investing in her own business, traveling the world, happy? Hopefully not in that order LOL

Did this just happen, or did you want to do this? This as in, modeling.

- Modeling has always been some thing I aspired to accomplish… Every aspect of production really.

Anything else you would like to tell our readers?

- if you want anything done right, do it yourself.
